Sue Ecklund
Sue has over 20 years of coaching experience. She is a current member of USFS and PSA and is CER compliant.Sue attends PSA Seminars to further her education.
Sue was coached by Sheryl Franks, former Olympic and World competitor, and Alyson Brooks Carling. Throughout her competitive years, she won medals in numerous New England competitions including Lake Placid and Bay State games. She competed nationally as a member of the Colonial Junior Synchro team.
Her coaching specialties are Freestyle, Moves in the field, Basic Skills, Choreography, and Hockey edge classes. Sue has been the director of several local skating shows as well as a Basic Skills director. She taught skaters in the local community of all levels and ages (up to Junior Moves and Novice Freestyle).
Sue is a graduate of Salve Regina University, with a degree in Special Education and Elementary Education. She is currently a Special Education teacher at Gardner Middle School. While teaching, Sue shares her expertise and love of figure skating with her students while continuing personal and professional development.

Wendy Freitas
Wendy has been a figure skating coach for the past 22 years. She coaches with the Cheshire FSC as well as area clubs in Massachusetts. Wendy trained in the New England area under Olympic and Master Rated coaches.
She is a member of the Professional Skating Association and is a registered coach with the United States Skating Association.
Wendy is available to coach Freestyle, Moves in the field, and Choreography.

Beth Jasinski
Beth has been coaching for Cheshire FSC for the past 15 years. She trained in Burlington, VT and appeared in an Andy Williams Christmas special with Dorothy Hamill.
Beth is a member of the Professional Skaters Association and is a registered coach with the US Figure Skating Association.
She is available to coach Freestyle, Moves in the Field, and Choreography.

Liz Kemp
Liz has been coaching for CFSC the past four years. She was a member of the Monadnock Figure Skating Club for 18 years and was coached by Sue Eckland (another CFSC coach).
Liz is a current member of USFS and PSA and is CER compliant. Liz attends seminars throughout New England in order to further her skating and coaching knowledge. She specializes in freestyle, choreography, moves in the field, and basic skills. Over the past 3 years, her students have competed in several competitions and tested up to Juvenile moves and Preliminary freeskate.
Liz is also a Senior Honors psychology student at Keene State College and is actively exploring graduate programs for Social Work.

Katie O’Connell
Katie is a 21 year old student at Franklin Pierce University, majoring in Sports and Recreation Management. She has passed the Senior Freestyle as well as the Senior Moves in the field.
While skating competitively, she took from Evy and Mary Scotvold, coaches of Olympic medalists as well as Amanda Farkas, Mark Mitchell, and Peter Johansson. Along with being choreographed by Paul Wiley, Katie medaled in several competitions through the New England Regional area, as well as a Bay State Games Ladies Champion, New England Regional finalist, and International medalist as a member of Boston’s Act One Theater on Ice.
Katie appeared in multiple shows including Harvard’s Salvation Army Show and received the Tenley Albright Coach’s Award. She coached at rinks in our region as well as in the Boston area.
Katie is a member of USFS, PSA, and is CER compliant. She attends seminars throughout the New England area and specializes in freestyle, moves in the field, basic skills, and choreography. Katie has taught skaters from Learn to Skate up to Intermediate moves and juvenile Freestyle.
Katie brings her knowledge and passion to the ice while teaching her students.

Junior Coaches
Are registered with the USFSA to teach Basic Skills classes and coach private lessons on the Badge Freestyle ice time. They must be at least 16 years old, tested at the pre-juvenile level (or higher), and have logged many hours as volunteers for the CFSC Basic Skills program over the years. You will see them running Basic Skills classes and they can be contacted individually for private lessons.
Basic Skills Helpers
These students are volunteers registered with the USFSA from the age of 13-16. You will see them helping the coaches with the Basic Skills classes.
